Alpaca visit to Carrowholly N.S. 19th June
24th Jun 2024
On Wednesday 19th June, there was great excitement when 'Achill Island Alpacas' visited our school.
Bailey and Bruno settled into our spacious pitch and the sheepdog, Mandy was keeping an eye on all events!
Our students were afforded opportunities to pet and feed these beautiful creatures and many giggles were heard during this process.
This experience was thoroughly enjoyed and linked with our Amber Flag Wellbeing initiative.
We are extremely thankful to John McNamara for bringing these alpacas to our school. His passion and knowledge in this area is inspiring. Our students were enthusiastic in this engaging learning experience and greatly benefitted from this exciting visit.
The students commented on the temperament of 'Bailey' and 'Bruno'-both placid and inquisitive, with very different personalities.
