Congratulations to our student who won 2nd in the All-Ireland U-11 Relay competition in Tullamore on 23rd June '24. He was the only student from Carrowholly N.S. that was on this team but shared this success with four of his team-mates. They represented Westport Athletic Club and were trained by Aileen McNamara.
These finals mark the highlight of the Track & Field calendar for these U9 to U12 superstars. Seven athletes in total qualified to represent the club. The U11 boys 4x100m relay team ran a sensational race in heat 1 to lower their Connacht winning time from 1.01.00 to 59.96. The team narrowly missed out on becoming National Champions by four hundreds of a second to Templemore AC (59.92).
Congratulations to Templemore who were victorious in this competition. This is a huge achievement and shows the progress they are making year on year through their commitment and determination.
