Ellen Lonergan a past pupil of Carrowholly National School and the Sacred Heart Secondary School in Westport, has recently commenced studies at Wayland Baptist University, in Plainview Texas. Ellen has attained a golf and academic scholarship to the University where she is studying Mathematics and Engineering. Having recently attained top marks in the Leaving Certificate examination, achieving 7 H1's, Ellen attributes her love of learning to the great foundation she got from eight very happy years spent in Carrowholly NS. She is grateful to all the teachers and staff of the school for their encouragement and care during her time there.
