On Tuesday 28th May, the Kilmeena U-14 team played in the Homeland Division 4
League final against Louisburgh. This took place at Islandeady G.A.A. Pitch.
This team consisted of many present and former Carrowholly N.S. students i.e. Lorcan Lane, Billy Lane,
Lorcan Holland, Jack Ivin, Fionn Lavelle, Jacob Chambers, Charlie Geoghegan, Bailey Browne, Ryan Cannon & Donnacha McGauley.
The game kicked off at 7pm and by half-time the score was 3-1 Louisburgh 0-9 Kilmeena.
As the second half progressed, we were down nine
points with six minutes to spare. Our fighting spirit never wavered as we
managed to level. Into extra time we went, scoring a goal followed by a point and goal by Louisburgh. We persevered and went on to win the game by seven points.
It was a riveting game and a memorable experience for the players and spectators!
