Tag Rugby Training and blitz winter 2023

5th Dec 2023

Recently our school started doing a weekly tag rugby programme from 1st to 6th classes.

As part of the warm up on the first week, we played 2 rounds of a game called "Stuck in the mud".  As part of this game there were three people chasing, and everyone else was running trying not to get caught.  In the first round to free people, we just touched their arm.  Then in the second round, we did a handshake to free them.

After the warm up, we were given a run down on how to play tag rugby.  We went on and played a starter game to learn how to play.  Then we were split into two teams, one team wore bibs and the other didn't.  At first we were doing throwing for the passes and later on we added kicking in too.  The girls went out for a half an hour.  To finish off we were split up into four groups and we played relay races running up and down the astro pitch.
I am so happy i am getting the opportunity to play tag rugby.  We are just hoping that the weather will stay fine for us!

After our sessions had been completed, we participated in a Tag Rugby Blitz.
