The day we discovered a snake in our school........

29th May 2024

There were gasps of disbelief when we discovered that there was a snake in our school! We thought St. Patrick banished all snakes from Ireland! We were pleasantly relieved to realise that a female, pet snake was brought to visit the students of Carrowholly N.S.

Before the beautiful reptile entered our classroom, we were asked to remain calm, quiet and brave.

We learned about taking care of a snake and her diet of mice! Many students exercised bravery in holding this gentle and soft creature-a calming experience.

Many thanks to Erzi (our pre-school tutor) for bringing in her pet and providing a memorable, learning experience for staff and students, alike!
